What are Etsy shipping profiles?
Being able to properly ship your Etsy listings is vital to keeping your products flowing and your customers happy. Etsy lets you easily set this information through its Shipping profiles page. Here you can create Etsy shipping profiles to easily manage all of your shipping information.
What are Etsy shipping profiles?
Etsy shipping profiles set various shipping properties required to ship products. After setting up a profile, you select it to give your products the same shipping options. You can create multiple shipping profiles if your products have different shipping requirements. Do note that each listing can only use one shipping profile.
Etsy shipping profiles include the following information:
Shipping Prices (required field)
There are two options you can select for this setting. The first is to have Etsy calculate them for you. With this option, "shoppers will see prices based on their location and the weight and dimensions of the listing." See Etsy's How to Set Up Calculated Shipping article for more information.
The second option is “I’ll enter fixed prices manually”. With this, you “set the price buyers will pay for standard shipping, international shipping, shipping upgrades, and even shipping discounts for multi-item orders.”
Common aspects of both shipping prices options
Country of origin (required field)
This is the country from where you are shipping your products.
Origin zip/postal/pin code
This is where you enter the zip code from where you are shipping your products.
Note: This is not a required field for all countries, for instance, Ireland. Some countries don’t have this section, for instance, Afghanistan.
Processing time (required field)
Processing time is how long it takes you to create, package, and ship your products. Etsy provides a drop-down from which you can choose a range. If Etsy’s options do not cover your time frame, choose the custom range option.
Note: Processing time can be no more than 70 days. (10 weeks on custom range time)
Profile Name (required field)
This field is where you name your shipping profile. Naming your profiles helps you quickly identify them. Named profiles are helpful when you have multiple profiles for different product types. It eliminates having to search each profile to find the correct one.
These next few sections vary depending on what you selected for Shipping prices. We will first cover Etsy calculating the prices for you.

Note: Etsy requires you to ship to your own country of origin.
Shipping Services
In this section, you select which shipping services your customers can choose. The available shipping options depend on your origin country. For a US-based shop, these are the available shipping service options.
Free shipping
In this section, you select if you want to provide free shipping to your customers. Free shipping can be made available for domestic, international, both, or neither with a simple check box.
Handling fee
Handling fees are added to a customer’s total when checking out. Sellers use These fees to offset the expenses associated with holding, packing, and shipping an order. These can be applied to domestic, international, both, or neither.

In this section, you select which shipping services you will provide. For a US-based account, the default companies are FedEx, UPS, and USPS. Once you decide on the company, you decide on package type such as priority, first class, express, etc. In addition to these options, you can select Other. In other, you choose the min and max shipping days.
Additionally, you also select if you use free shipping or fixed prices.
Note: Your first shipping option is for your country of origin. By default, the second is everywhere else. If you are only shipping in your origin country, you can delete the everywhere else option. Any additional options are custom set locations.
Shipping Upgrades
Shipping upgrades are upgrades your customers can choose. Your options are Express, 1 Day, Economy, and Custom. In addition to this, you can select Shipping service. The shipping service is the same here as in the standard shipping section.
